GAIA FOUNDATION, Inc. is educational and research organization, which is active in promotion of sustainable development and creation of livable communities with better quality of life in United States of America and elsewhere. Sustainable development was defined at the Earth Summit (1992) in Rio de Janeiro as integrated strategies that would halt and reverse the negative impact of human behavior and technology on physical environment and allow for livable environment for future generations on Earth. The work is done through multiple means, such as educational programs, demonstrations of sustainable technologies, providing consulting to non-governmental & governmental organizations, and businesses in developing policies on the local, state, national and international level. We are also working on practical projects within the communities in which we reside, providing guidance and technical support to volunteers and professionals who are dedicated to improvement of our blue planet. Our motto is: THINK GLOBALLY, ACT LOCALLY, and our working principles are: People are inherently capable of making right decisions when they are properly informed. - Thomas Jefferson Do as much as you can, with what you have, where you are! - Gaialea LOCATIONS The Headquarters of GAIA FOUNDATION, Inc. are currently located in Cincinnati Ohio USA at 8987 Cotillion Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio USA 45231 Additional offices are being established in Moscow (Russia), Zagreb & Dubrovnik (Croatia), Jerusalem (Israel), New Delhi (India), Pokhara (Nepal), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Nuremberg (Germany), and Bern (Switzerland). We are creating our future headquarters, the GAIA OASIS, by rehabilitating a block of five buildings across from Findlay Market on Race Street in the historic Over-the-Rhine Neighborhood (OTR) of Cincinnati OH USA. In addition to our offices, the GAIA OASIS complex will include Gaia Heavenly Foods Restaurant; a covered yard (in-between the buildings) called Alden Place, where people can schmooze after shopping and meet their friends; community teaching and hang-around rooms (for both children after school and teaching various classes needed for the residents of OTR); and apartments (which some of our workers would receive as the equity payment for their effort).
