04/22/2009:
Just had my dental examination. The dentist did his
postgraduate work in dentistry in Ann Arbor and Columbus...so he knows all about
Fisher School of Business and living in Columbus, Ohio. He did a very thorough
dental exam and found that I need 3 root canals done and two crowns, one tooth
extracted (just as my American dentist recommended). At 5 :30 today, I am seeing
his wife who specializes in oral surgery and root canal work. Also, 7 fillings
need to be polished and I will have cleanup and whitening of teeth.
Total cost of 2 crowns, three root canals, X-rays (he took
one and his wife may take another), cleanup and whitening of teeth...about $180.
It will all be done within a week...it is two minutes walk to their dental
office, where he and his wife practice dental surgery and care. The guy looks
like Yelena's age or younger. Now I am working on business stuff with India and
Nepal. Servants are taking care of all my needs...fabulous food and service. I
feel like a princess in Shangri-la;-)! My Nepalese friends are waiting for me
with the money they owe me ;-)! so Kaniz will lose her bet with me, regarding
the re-payment of my money!
04/21/2009:
Yes...so far having great time...meeting people in airplanes
and in-between flights. One Nepalese import/export person, who has a cotton
clothes shop in Kathmandu, will make me 3 dresses that I designed on the plane,
and may join us trekking in Annapurna.
My friend the retired MIG pilot picked me up at the airport
and tomorrow I am seeing a dentist at 10 am Indian time (which is 10 hours ahead
of American EST). Everything is working like a charm...
I will write more tomorrow...
With warm regards (it is 33 degrees Celsius here),
Vlasta
P.S. On the road from the airport I had great lassi.

in promotion of sustainable development and creation of livable communities with

Sustainable development
was defined at the Earth Summit (1992) in Rio de Janeiro as integrated
strategies that would halt and reverse the negative impact of human behavior and
technology on physical environment and allow for livable environment for future
generations on Earth. The work is done through multiple means, such as
educational programs, demonstrations of sustainable technologies, providing
consulting to non-governmental & governmental organizations, and businesses in
developing policies on the local, state, national and international level. We
are also working on practical projects within the communities in which we
reside, providing guidance and technical support to volunteers and professionals
who are dedicated to improvement of our blue
planet.
Our motto is: THINK
GLOBALLY, ACT LOCALLY, and our working principles are:
